He made so much noise in the bathroom grumbling about the cold shower, that Jeremy woke up from the couch and took the opportunity to go sleep in the bed.
Kiplan was left to fix his own breakfast and he was doing quite nicely by himself. He even took the opportunity to fix his favorite food. But, while waiting for his waffles to bake in the oven his mind was starting to drift elsewhere.
When He finally remembered his breakfast, it was too late. The oven, and soon to be the whole kitchen, was engulfed in flames.
Hearing the screaming and the crackling of the flames, Jeremy woke up and ran to his brothers aid. He extinguished the fire, saving the kitchen, the house, and both their lives, and with the insurance money meant to go towards a new oven they could now purchase the much needed second bed.
After the fire was out Kiplan began daydreaming and a new wish appeared. Kiplan now wanted to "See the fiery ghost of Jeremy." Forget about gratitude. Kiplan was obviously mixing his fascination with the fire, the previous day's ghosts, and his obvious jealousy of his brother into a sick fantasy of seeing him burn in a ghostly blaze for all eternity.
After eating leftover Macaroni and Cheese for breakfast, Kiplan, still pondering over his brother and the fire, went directly to the bookcase and began reading " Murder in Pleasantview." Coincidence?
